Application of Frequency Counters

During frequency measurement, oscilloscope as one of traditional instrument has low accuracy and large error. Spectrum analyzer can accurately measure the frequency and display the spectrum of measured signal, but the measurement speed is slow and cannot quickly track and capture the real-time frequency change of measured signal. While frequency counter can make up above defects, which make it has wider application range.

 

Frequency counters could be used in test of production line in traditional manufacturing company. As it can quickly capture frequency change of oscillator, user can quickly detect the default crystal oscillators so as to guarantee the quality.

 

In laboratories, frequency counters are used to calibrate the local oscillators of various electronic measuring devices.

 

Frequency is an important parameter in the measurement filed. Frequency counter could be wildly used because of high accuracy, fast speed, easy operation and digital display. As continuous development of computer networks and electronic science and technology, the requirement for frequency measurement will get higher and higher. Then demand for a high precision frequency counter will become more urgent.

Application of Spectrum Analyzer

Spectrum analyzers are used to display the spectral characteristics of input signals in the frequency domain. Spectrum analyzers are used to analyze and study signals in the frequency domain and are used in many different fields, such as wireless signal transceivers, signal interference detection, spectrum monitoring, and component characterization, etc. It is a common tool for R&D, production, and inspection of electronic products, and is an essential tool for wireless communication signal measurement. Its application range is very wide, so some engineers will also call it a universal meter for RF measurement.

Application of Spectrum Analyzer


Spectrum analyzer is divided into real-time analysis type and sweep class. The former can obtain all the required spectrum information and analyze and display the analysis results within the actual time of the measured signal; the latter needs to complete the analysis of repeated information through multiple sampling process. Real-time spectrum analyzer is mainly used for non-repetitive, very short duration signal analysis. Non-real-time spectrum analyzer is mainly used for the analysis of a certain continuous RF signal and periodic signal from the acoustic frequency until the sub-millimeter band.

Cautions in Use Power Quality Analyzer

With advantage of portable and easy to use, power quality analyzer as a comment instrument are greatly

welcomed by customers. Here, cautions in use will be introduced to ensure a safety use.


1.It should be charged in time and charge once per day and charge time should longer than 6 hours. The

instrument has an internal charging protection function, which allows a continuously charge to instrument.

Over discharge is forbidden in case damage the battery life. Charge once every month at least even the

instrument is not used in a long time.


2.High performance lithium ion batteries are built in device, randomly replace other types battery are

 forbidden in case the incompatibility cause the damage to power quality analyzer.


3.Battery protection board are activated and access to protection status when take out the battery from

 instrument. When reinstall battery pack and it can’t work directly. The charger is needed to charge device

 to disable the protection status, then it can work normally.


4.Don’t touch the mental part of test lead during the test process to prevent electric shock. Make sure to

operate as instructions when connect wire in test.


5. Socket with ground wire should be used, operation is forbidden if over limits of current and voltage.

Classification of signal generators

Signal generator, also known as signal source or oscillator, has a wide range of applications in production practice and science and technology fields.All kinds of waveforms can be expressed by trigonometric equations.The circuit capable of producing a variety of waveforms, such as triangular, sawtooth, rectangular (including square) and sine waves, is called a function signal generator.Generally,signal generators have many classification methods, one of which classifies the signal source into a mixed signal source and a logical signal source.


Mixed signal source mainly outputs analog waveform, which is generally divided into function generator FG and arbitrary waveform generator AWG.The main output digital code of logical signal source is generally divided into pulse generator and code generator.


Function generator(FG) is a multi-waveform signal source.It can produce sine wave, square wave, triangle wave, sawtooth wave, or even arbitrary waveform.Some function generators also have the function of modulation, can be AM, FM, phase modulation, pulse width modulation and VCO control.


Arbitrary waveform generator (AWG) is a complex signal generator, it can in the frequency range, accuracy and output level within the scope of arbitrary waveforms.
